Desperate Housewives Star Eva Longoria Graduates College
May 23, 2013 by Jennifer Exley
A few days ago Eva Longoria was walking a red carpet in Cannes, but yesterday she walked a slightly different path. The actress graduated from California State University, Nothridge with a Master’s Degree in Chicano Studies.
Longoria took to Twitter to announce the news, posting super adorable pictures of her in a cap and gown. She even posted a picture of her fellow Master’s graduates with the caption “My Chicano Studies cohort at CSUN!!”
Of course, Longoria’s family was there to celebrate with her. Those who couldn’t be there sent their congratulations over Twitter. Longoria’s former Desperate Housewives co-star Marcia Cross tweeted “Huge congratulations on your graduation today!!! From Canne to cap and gown. You really are something. xoxo m.”
Shaun King, founder of the social media startup Up Front, tweeted, “Super proud of my friend @EvaLongoria for earning her Master’s Degree today! That’s dedication. Keep getting better!”
For those of you wondering what Chicano Studies is, here’s the definition according to the CSUN website: “Chicana and Chicano studies is an Area Studies that advances critical understanding of the Chicano/a and Latino/a experience in the United States. Longoria is of Mexican descent.”
Longoria even added some sage-like advice mingled in with her glee. “You’re never too old or too busy to continue your education,” she tweeted. While thirty-eight year old Longoria is definitely not old, she still makes a valid point.
Congratulations, Eva!
