EXCLUSIVE Tom Schwartz Talks Vanderpump Rules Season 2
Tom Schwartz and the cast of Vanderpump Rules will be back for season 2 starting on November 4.
Ahead of the premiere, Tom is talking exclusively to Hollywoodite about what is in store for him and the cast as well as details on the new girls, his season 1 regrets, and his relationship with his girlfriend of three years (and Vanderpump Rules co-star), Katie Maloney.
What are you most excited to see during the second season of Vanderpump Rules?
How the dynamics of our groups friendship change and also me actually combing my hair this time around. My tagline for this season is: “Heads will roll, tears will flow and b**bs will show.”How did filming season 2 compare to season 1?
Season 1 we had the training wheels. Season 2 we took them off, ride no-handed and don’t wear helmets!What can you tell us about the new girls (Ariana and Kristina)?
They are both good friends and very cool cats. Kristina has great style and isn’t afraid to voice her opinions. Ariana is kick-a**, multi-talented however she went to UF and wears jorts so I hesitate to give her too much praise.Did you guys go on any fun trips together as the cast did in Vegas during season 1?
We did! Another Stassi birthday getaway however I can’t disclose destination. It’s juicy though.Was there anything you regretted after filming season 1 or wish the viewers got to see more of?
I would have liked to have more of the guys goofing around and being idiots but a lot of that stuff is too esoteric and doesn’t translate well on TV. I like to be weird and unexpected. We’ll see what happens this season. I also regretted dumping beer on Stassi (even though she deserved it), as I love her and she is a close friend. Beer over the head is surprisingly refreshing though. You should try it sometime.Is there anything personally we should know about you going into the second season? What are you doing when you aren’t working at SUR/filming the show?
I also bartend occasionally here in LA. Some commercial work and lots of print stuff / modeling. Still finding my voice. Also spend a lot of time playing poker. I love poker. Love it.What brought you to SUR when you first started working there?
I actually am the only one who doesn’t work there. I met the SUR crew through Tom Sandoval and Kristen, who were my first roommates when I arrived in LA.Are you and Katie still together?
Yeah we are happily still together! My other girlfriends DO get jealous but they know Katie is my main squeeze.How long have you guys been in a relationship? Did you meet at SUR?
My bubba and I have been together for 3 years. Kristen Doute introduced us. She is a natural matchmaker.Do you see marriage in your future (no pressure ;))?
Nice try Katie.Does the show put any added stress on your relationship? Why or why not?
It sure does. All of the drama is amplified and really does create collateral damage even when it doesn’t directly involve Katie and I per se. I sort of am able to compartmentalize and let things go pretty quickly though. Humble brag. I was pushed to my limits a few times that’s for sure.
