Why Did Farrah Abraham Check Herself Into Rehab?

Farrah Abraham has entered rehab. Nearly four months after being arrested for DUI, the former Teen Mom star claims she’s ready to address her issues and has checked herself into a treatment center in Florida. Last night, she released a statement explaining her decision.

“At this time in my life, I need to stay focused on the positive to get through all of the negative that a DUI has caused in my life,” Abraham explained in a statement to Radar Online. “I’m 22 and I want to make better choices and ensure I can recognize when I am putting myself in a bad situation next time.”

On Sunday night, Abraham arrived to The Lukens Institute, a luxury rehab facility in Palm Beach Gardens, where she undergo intense therapy for the next 10 days. The cost? $12,000. The program is an outpatient program which means she’s free to come and go as she pleases. However, she will be accompanied by a sober companion when she does leave, so she will have to stay sober for the entirety of her stay.

Although Abraham did complete her court-ordered drug and alcohol course, the director of the class, Phyllis K. Moczygemba, claims she “had difficulty making eye contact, was standoffish and was sarcastic when answering the questions asked of her.” Moczygemba also wrote in the report that Abraham “does meet the criteria for substance abuse.”

Abraham was recently featured in a video during an appearance in Las Vegas in which she seemed to be extremely intoxicated.

In the clip, a guy named Danny documents their night together from the limo to the club and back to Abraham’s hotel. Abraham can hardly form sentences and what was even more shocking than her seemingly drunken stupor was the fact that she had just been ordered by the judge in her DUI cast to abstain from alcohol for the entirety of her probation.

Interestingly, Abraham is joined in rehab by infamous Tanning Mom Patricia Crentcil who just happens to be represented by the same PR firm as she is.

Could this all be one big publicity stunt?
