Gayle King: Oprah Is NOT Blue Ivy Carter’s Godmother

Yesterday, a spuriously-sourced report from MediaTakeOut.com claimed that Beyonce and Jay-Z chose Oprah to be Blue Ivy Carter’s godmother. However, in news that will surprise no one, that was just fabrication from MTO’s creative fiction department because it’s not true at all. Honestly, not that it’s important who was chosen. But MTO were wrong. Again.

Earlier today, Us Weekly reached out to reps for Beyonce who declined to make comment.

However, close friend of Oprah, Gayle King, went on CBS’ The Early Show and denied the reports: “It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother. She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much. She’s working on sending them a baby gift. She hasn’t even had time to send a baby gift because she’s been away. Let me just say, if true, it is news to her. It is news to her. You know, she was heading to South Africa when the baby was born.”
