Gretchen Rossi Flashes Her Engagement Ring

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Gretchen Rossi shows off her beautiful 4-carat yellow diamond engagement ring in the latest issue of Life & Style Magazine, but the engagement isn’t exactly what you would think.
After months of planning, Gretchen is actually the one who proposed to her boyfriend-of-four years, Slade Smiley, on the rooftop at the AT&T building in Los Angeles with a black-gold and black-diamond band–and of course he said yes!
“I don’t do anything by the book,” Rossi explains, as she opens up on why she proposed. “Life is too short, I’m in love with this man, and I needed to take the plunge!”
Many of Rossi’s early story lines on the reality show involved Smiley, his financial challenges surrounding bad child support and how this affected Rossi’s stance on marriage. During last season, Rossi even took Smiley to counseling as she revealed to a therapist that his lack of a job and increased debt was a major factor in her not being ready to move to the next level. But everything looks to be going better for him now that he has a job at a radio station as a talk show personality.
“I’ve never been so overwhelmed with just sheer joy and happiness!” he tells the magazine.
Five days after Rossi’s shocking proposal, her fiance bought her an engagement ring at a local Newport jeweler.
