Gwyneth Paltrow Probably Hates Her Maid, As Much As She Hates Peasants

This story comes after a week of increasingly-irritating stories about the delusional and pretentious world of Gwyneth Paltrow. If she’s not promoting things most of her fans can’t afford on her GOOP website, she’s shilling even more niche/ expensive/ hipster things in Elle Decor. For example, she has a bath in her bedroom despite claims she’s too busy GOOPing to bathe. And she has a religion shelf, because she needs a shelf. Like she needs the hipster wallpaper and the other things on her listicle of GOOP.
Today, there’s a piece in Us Weekly that’s been denied by her people. But, frankly, it rings true. Mainly from a common sense POV, in that she wouldn’t want randoms and stalkers knowing her home address in the Hamptons and she probably should have reamed out her maid in this instance.
Down-to-earth or downright rude? Gwyneth Paltrow is receiving mixed reviews from insiders in New York’s Hamptons this summer. Though one witness at the Maidstone Club tells the new issue of Us Weekly that the Oscar winner, 38, is “sweet to staffers,” another source says Paltrow is anything but.
Case in point? After a friendly traveler gave Paltrow’s housekeeper a lift from a bus stop to her home, the actress reprimanded the driver.
“Gwyneth was mad that the maid showed strangers where she lived,” the insider tells Us. “Gwyneth said, ‘Please don’t give my maid a ride again!’”
Paltrow’s rep denies she got huffy over the help. “Her housekeeper has a car, and Gwyneth would never say something like that.” – via Us Weekly.
The denial’s hilarious. GOOP would never belittle or yell at a maid. Or a peasant. Or both at the same time. For sport. Because this isn’t how she spends her free time anyway. Meh.
