Hacked Scarlett Johansson Photos Confirmed As REAL, Sites Getting Legal Threats

The FBI has issued a statement about the hacking and leaking of nude photos from Scarlett Johansson’s cell phone.

Sounding terse, when pressed about their priorities, FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller updated the media about the Johansson photos leaked/ shared in March and only reported yesterday morning: “The FBI confirms we are investigating computer intrusions of high profile figures… People are asking what we mean by ‘computer’ intrusions. This might be too traditional a term at this point, but, by computer we mean any computer, laptop, phone or other device on which personal information can be accessed online. We’re also getting questions about whether the FBI has anything better to do than worry about celebrities. That is answered with: The nature of work in which the victim engages is irrelevant when a federal violation is reported.”

Okay, so the FBI DOES have better things to do… as annoyed as Eimiller sounds. But they’re under legal duress to investigate photos that were bound to leak because celebrities are slow-learners.

As a sidenote, Internet Detectives have looked at the EXIF data for Johansson’s pictures. The cell was a BlackBerry 9000, which seems to match the photos. The photos were taken on the same phone. Her hideous wrist tattoo matches. The room’s wallpaper seems to match that of her house, as does the room’s layout. The last edit date is 11 months ago, for the photo of her bare chest. And the last edit date matches the time of day in the photos (late afternoon, after the sun set, as that photo’s lit with artificial light).

In newer news, the photos have been confirmed as REAL. The easiest way to force down real nudes is claiming copyright protection. Johansson snapped the photos and so she owns the rights.

Admitting the photos authenticity, Johansson’s lawyer Marty Singer sent legal letters. The letter demands websites remove the “stolen copyright protected private photographs” or face legal action. “The highly personal and private photographs at issue capture our client self-posing in her own home in a state of undress and/or topless. If you fail to comply, you will be acting at your own peril. Please govern yourselves accordingly.”

TMZ.com claims the FBI already know one hacker’s identity, the ringleader. And the agency is closing in…
