Harper Seven Beckham – David & Victoria’s Daughter’s Name: Cute Or Huh?

The name of Victoria Beckham and David Beckham’s first daughter has been revealed. The 7lbs 10oz baby girl has been named Harper Seven Beckham. The name’s been getting nothing like the reaction of “WHT?” as their last baby name, “Cruz.” However, some seem to be wondering about the name of Harper, already taken by the daughter of Neil Patrick Harris and several other celebrities – so, meh – and the middle name… that isn’t really a name.
The name of Little Harper Collins… oops, Harper’s Bazaar… or whatever, is subject to much debate. The name of the baby girl was released on the Facebook of David Beckham this weekend along with excitable superlatives and kisses, “I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.”
Following that, New aunt Joanne Beckham tweeted, “Big congrats to my sister in law @victoriabeckham and my big bro on the birth of my beautiful niece : ) can’t wait 2 see u all xx.” Fellow former Spice Girl, “Mel B” tweeted, “Congrats!!! Yipeee another spice baby is born, damn it wish it was me this AM cos I feel like I’m about to POP!” Mother-of-two Emma Bunton added, “Big kiss to @victoriabeckham can’t wait to meet your gorgeous little girl!”
It’s being reported by the UK’s Daily Mail that the first name is rather arbitrary and middle name has several meanings.
“Harper is an old English name something Victoria has always liked. Seven is a very lucky happy number and the baby was born just after 7am, in the seventh month.” – via Daily Mail.
Moreover, Seven may be homage to the footballer’s number when he played for Manchester United and England. And she weighed seven pounds when she was born, arrived in the seventh hour in the seventh month on the seventh day of the week.
People.com has its own ideas about the baby name and it’s just a guessing game free-for-all as it was coming up to the due date.
It may not be as complicated as you think. Harper is an old English name that Victoria has always loved, PEOPLE has learned, and seven is considered a very lucky spiritual number. In addition, Harper Seven was born Sunday morning in L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center weighing 7 lbs. (and 10 oz.) in the seventh hour in the seventh month – on the seventh day of the week. As sports fans can’t help but also note, seven was David’s jersey number for Manchester United and the English national team. – via People.
So, People pretty much scalped the postulations of the Daily Mail. Well, it’s probably not that deep. These are a couple who named their first kid after a city in which they had sex.
