Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 – New York Premiere
July 12, 2011 by Hollywoodite
It was assumed by some that the London premiere of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 would be its last. Evidently, that’s not the case and the New York movie premiere took place last night with the entire cast and guests including Sarah Jessica Parker and her family.
It was a relatively uneventful occasion. Except for everyone crapping expletives and exclamation points at Emma Watson wearing an outfit she lacks the edge to pull off. To the London premiere, she was distinctly more muted and admitted as much to reporters when she was quizzed on this outfit, “New York is such a fashion capital, I felt I could push the envelope a bit. With London I went a bit more classic but for today I wanted to do something edgier.”
She really did go all out, wearing a Bottega Veneta gown in rust/ bronze made of some kind of satin and linen in a rather peculiar juxtaposition perhaps better suited to the pages of a fashion magazine than the red carpet. It’s a nice enough dress and looked great coming down the Bottega Veneta Fall 2011 runway. But, with the weirdly-oily hair and the glittery raccoon make-up, it’s all too much. Watson’s usually flawless – with an understated elegance beyond her years – but this is one of her weakest looks to date.
Well, the male cast members including former alcoholic who has been sober since last August Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint who it was alleged smoked pot on camera, and reletively scandal-free Tom Felton, are below.
