How Much Did Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake Earn Selling Wedding Photos To “People”?
October 23, 2012 by Hollywoodite
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake sold their wedding photos to People Magazine who were the last ones to acknowledged the pre-wedding arrival of guests and the celebrations that included a rehearsal dinner and firework display. Paparazzi from several agencies were stalking the event as the location of the couple was “under wraps” but, reportedly, Timberlake’s young relatives were on social media giving away their whereabouts in the south of Italy at every minute.
The only media inside the event, though, were People to whom the couple sold their exclusive, which means they’re going to be on the cover in a few hours. All of which seems so low-rent now that Blake Lively sidestepped People and the tabloids altogether being secretly engaged then selling her own exclusive to Martha Stewart Weddings; even bashing People in a statement, for lying on its cover about having any exclusive access to the wedding, for which Lively probably got paid more than she would have with a tabloid.
Page Six has a report on the sale of the wedding photos, claiming they earned the couple $300,000, and we’ll see whether it was worth it on Wednesday when the covers are released.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have sold their wedding pictures to People for an estimated $300,000.
The usually publicity-shy couple have also struck a deal with OK! to sell the pictures of their nuptials in Europe.
The pair [got married] in front of 100 people at the gorgeous Borgo Egnazia resort in Southern Italy on Friday.
Reports said they flew out close family and friends, including Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg and Beverley Mitchell. The entire complex was filled with white blooms for the ceremony, and the reception was held in marquee tents in the grounds of the hotel.
The Roots’ drummer, Questlove, served as DJ, and Timberlake even performed one song, dedicated to Jessica, who wore a dress designed by Giambattista Valli.
But missing from the guest list were his former *NSYNC bandmates Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone. A source told us, “The band were not invited and are pretty upset about it. But the wedding guests were mainly close family and friends.” – via Page Six.
The Chicago Sun-Times has more. Momma’s boy Timberlake let his mother railroad his new wife. Specifying a guest list of “80,” rather than the “100″ above, apparently Timberlake’s mother Lynn Harless, who co-manages her son’s career, runs his finances, his media company, and his charitable foundation, played wedding planner and basically forced a big wedding even though Biel wanted something smaller.
A source explained: “As far as Jessica was concerned, she would have been just as happy to have a very small wedding with only a handful of friends and close family members present… [but] Lynn is a very powerful factor in Justin’s life and, if she wants to have a smooth marriage, she has to have Lynn in her corner. A big part of that is letting Lynn have her way.”
