Report: How Much Money Do The Teen Mom & Teen Mom 2 Girls Earn?

June 1, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Ahead of the Teen Mom season four premiere, Star Magazine and its sister outlet RadarOnline.com (owned by American Media Inc. who, incidentally, also owns OK! Magazine, National Enquirer, Star, Shape, Muscle & Fitness, and Men’s Fitness) examine how much the stars earned.

There’s rather detailed salary information for Teen Mom 2. Whereas, the numbers for Teen Mom’s earlier seasons are a little vague and some sound like guesses. Although, it’s still apparent that the girls from the earlier seasons were paid more money even if you don’t include the bonuses, college funds, and annuities for their kids.

* A source says of Teen Mom 2′s unemployed Jenelle Evans: “Jenelle gets paid $75,000 a year and her mom gets paid $65,000; she calls her an overpaid babysitter. She also gets a lot of gift cards to places like The Olive Garden from MTV as a bonus payment.”

* A source says of Teen Mom 2′s Leah Messer, who worked as a dental assistant: ”She could make $20,000 from her wedding, makes the most of all the girls in Teen Mom 2 because she held out the longest on her contract.”

* A source claims of Teen Mom 2′s Kail Lowry, who worked at a local Best Buy: She’s ”the only Teen Mom who actually still has a job. All the others did it for show.”

* Then there’s Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout who was in school during the show although she “was able to buy a house with her profit.”

* Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell ”has made enough to provide for some of life’s little accruements, though does not seem to be breaking the bank with her MTV proceeds.” A source expounds: “Catelynn Lowell and (baby daddy) Tyler Baltierra have enough money to buy both of their moms cars and Tyler paid for his sister to get a boob job.”

The source notes contention with the pay of the teen dads: “The teen dads make a lot of money… the Teen Moms think it’s ridiculous because they don’t have to film nearly as much or do as much work.”

In 2010, Life & Style Magazine claimed the Teen Moms earned between $60,000 to $65,000 per season. Which was still on the low side, since Amber Portwood’s court testimony revealed she made $140,000 per season in 2010; earning $280,000 for the two seasons she filmed the same year.
