How Much Did People Magazine Pay For Photos Of Snooki’s Baby Boy?
September 5, 2012 by Hollywoodite
Snooki covers People Magazine September 5, 2012 because she’s easy and convenient filler out of the slow news weekend.
With no other stories pushing the September 1 photo shoot at Snooki’s family home off the front page (not even the death of Michael Clarke Duncan whose death probably missed the print deadline), Snooki retained her exclusive. Remember, some celebrities have to wait; like Jessica Simpson, who was pushed back week-after-week, when bigger stories broke and stole her spotlight.
It’s not technically the first photo of baby boy Lorenzo Dominic LaValle, since the paparazzi took photos of the newborn leaving the hospital in the arms of his mother accompanied by MTV cameras and crew. And Snooki released a photo of the boy’s nursery along with teasers of her postpartum body. However, this is the first look at her son’s face.
According to The Huffington Post’s Rob Shuter, there was a bidding war on the photos that it would appear People won. A magazine editor source only has an estimate for this type of photo: conjecturing “$250,000″ for the sale.
Just days after the birth of her son, Snooki is already receiving offers from magazine and photo agencies to secure exclusive right to images of her new baby; the sale of which could net her as much as $250,000.
“There is great interest in seeing what Snooki’s son looks like,” one magazine editor tells me. “She has never been a great seller in the past, but who doesn’t want to see if her little meatball looks like his famous mom? I expect the bidding war could go as high as $250,000, with several outlets bidding against each other and raising the price.”– via The Huffington Post.
