The Hunger Games Has A Full-Length Trailer: Does It Live Up To The Hype?
The Hunger Games has its first proper trailer. It’s about time since there’s so much to be gleaned, for those of us who’ve not read the books. The trailer appears to feature all of the main actors/ characters, the posters for whom were released last week. It’s a Jennifer Lawrence-heavy trailer, for obvious reasons. Also present… her oddly-clean, oddly-groomed, and oddly-plump of cheek after being left to starve and fight to the death co-stars (hence the vague Battle Royale comparisons, except those kids were given food and water to last three days).
This is the latest in a string of promotion, including the Twilighty Vanity Fair spread with the cast standing in that one field VF loves sooo much. Really, someone needs to find VF a new backdrop; something that doesn’t make it look like they’re going camping on a balmy Summer day. From what one can gather, this has become rather removed from the books at this point. The glossiness, the shininess, the Twilightlyness of the photo shoots. It’s very… very. It doesn’t feel as dirty as it should. You feel like you need a shower after watching Battle Royale, so this trailer should leave you feeling the same.
