Married Country Singer Jason Aldean Drunk Cheats With American Idol’s Brittany Kerr

October 2, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Country singer Jason Aldean, 35, is married to his supposed “high school sweetheart,” Jessica Ussery, although that phrase means a lot less when it’s rumoured that he steps out on her with groupies on the regular (and there’s a rumour she’s the kind of permissive wife who overlooks cheating). Aldean has been married to Ussery since 2001 and they have two daughters together; Keeley, 9, and Kendyl, 5.

Aldean was caught red-handed this weekend, though, after an especially controversial set of photos were posted to TMZ.com showing the father-of-two kissing and cuddling former season 11 American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr at The Den in West Hollywood on Wednesday night.

Because some men think it’s okay to cheat as long as they apologise once they’re caught, when the photos hit the Internet, Aldean feigned contrition but minimised his cheating as a “screw up” and then blamed his decision-making on alcohol. Throwing in meaningless soundbites like “I’m only human” and “I’m not perfect” as though cheating is an imperfection or as though one needs to be perfect not to cheat on the mother of one’s kids (perfection is neither here nor there, he can be flawed and not cheat). Sound familiar? It’s a similar set of excuses Arnold Schwarzenegger used to minimise decades of cheating and at least one child outside his marriage with his humiliated wife Maria Shriver.

Here’s video from TMZ showing that Aldean was, at least, a drunken mess on the night. Not that that’s an excuse for a grown man who chose to party and chose to drink when he could have chosen to do neither and be responsible.

He’s since sobered up and issued a public apology on Twitter and Facebook: “Hey Guys. I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites. The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys.  I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
