Jenelle Evans Jailed After Testing Positive For Marijuana During Heroin Trial

August 12, 2013 by Lindsay Cronin

Jenelle Evans was in court this morning to address the heroin charges she and her estranged husband Courtland Rogers received in April after a domestic violence dispute. While the Teen Mom 2 star was able to avoid jail time in regards to the charges handled today, an on-the-spot drug test landed her behind bars following the trial.

According to Starcasm, Jenelle plead guilty to drug paraphernalia possession and was sentenced to 18 months unsupervised probation. Her felony charges of possession and intent to distribute heroin are still pending and will be addressed in superior court at a later date.

During her appearance, the judge administered a drug test which Jenelle failed. Dustin Sullivan, Jenelle’s attorney, informed the site, “The judge drug tested her and she tested positive for marijuana.” As a result, the “judge gave her 48 hours in jail.”

Jenelle will remain in custody until Wednesday at 9:30 am.

Jenelle arrived to court this morning with her boyfriend Nathan Griffith by her side. The two have been dating since June and spent this past weekend together along with Jenelle’s young son Jace. Nathan seemed to be a positive influence on her and shortly after their relationship began, Jenelle claimed to have given up pot for him. Fans doubted her at the time, and now, she’s proved them right.

Jenelle’s upcoming trial date has yet to be set but one thing is for sure — when she does return to court, this positive drug test certainly won’t work in her favor.

Meanwhile, Jenelle and the cast of Teen Mom 2 are busy filming the fifth season of the franchise. No word on whether or not Jenelle’s legal battle will play a part.
