Jennifer Lopez Staged Business Dinner To Look Like A Romantic Date?

September 14, 2011 by Hollywoodite

WTH is this story? Really! There are so many circuitous and ridiculous details and the whole thing’s convoluted.

It was reported by TMZ.com, earlier in the week, that Jennifer Lopez and Bradley Cooper went on a romantic date and the details somehow magically leaked to them. To TMZ. Whose staple is legal stories, not hook-ups.

We got no denial of a romance.

Instead, we got a staged photo of estranged husband Marc Anthony with friend Will Smith – with whom Lopez was rumoured to have had an affair.

The TMZ thing felt random and untrue. Everyone bought it though, because of the broad caliber of the outlet (although they’ve been wrong a bunch lately, for example the Paris Hilton DJ story was bogus). Many outlets were defending TMZ in their stories… because it’s not like this was an ITW/ L&S/ Star story.

And now The Huffington Post has a piece about how this is a pattern for Lopez; having these dinner dates, where details leak to make it look like more. And it’s probably her doing, much to the annoyance of the guys she’s using.

In 2002, Lopez had a casual dinner with [Ralph] Fiennes, around the time they were filming Maid in Manhattan together, only to find pictures from their joint meal splashed all over the New York Post saying ‘deny this.’

Fiennes later went on to say, “I had dinner with her and her producer and her manager who’s in the background of the shot as well. That didn’t upset me because it was just so not true and so badly set up.” – via The HuffPo.

Well, TMZ is fed bogus information sometimes. Every Lindsay Lohan story for the past year has been sugar-coated and/or spoon-fed by her or her mother. And the Lopez/ Cooper “romance” was probably planted too. Lopez has a music video coming out soon and she’s shooting a movie, What To Expect When You’re Expecting. She could use the publicity and the stab at Anthony doesn’t hurt her either.
