Star: Jennifer Lopez & Casper Smart Will Get “Married In Mexico”

This week’s Star cover follows the already-debunked and obviously-fake tweet that claims Jennifer Lopez is planning a wedding, and Roberto Cavalli will design the wedding dress after a personal request. The tabloid claims that Lopez is incorrigible and wants to marry Chris Judd 2.0, Casper Smart, 24, having learnt nothing from three divorces, one of which is still pending.
Star makes this its March 21 cover story, usurping claims about Jennifer Lawrence texting Brad Pitt the magazine knows is a tougher sell. The headline reads, with loose wording dancing around the fact Lopez is estranged but still legally-married: “After a quickie divorce from Marc… J. Lo Married In Mexico. Secret ceremony on a yacht: no guests, no gifts; Now Casper wants to adopt her twins; The prenup, he gets $1 million a year. Is It the biggest mistake of her life.”
A couple of things: adopting the twins, who reportedly call Smart “Daddy Casper” and “Poppa,” would probably mean Marc Anthony would have to surrender paternal rights and that’ll never happen. Moreover, Star is all loosey-goosey with the wording and tense use and verbiage not clarifying where its getting this information or whether it’s all speculative (for example, Smart’s reportedly already on a six-figure-a-year stipend so if anything $1 million seems low even if it’s every year for the speculated next “10-years”).
Sources tell the magazine: “Everyone in Jennifer’s inner circle thinks she’s lost her mind. Her mom, Guadalupe, flat out told her that marrying Casper will be the biggest mistake of her life! Jennifer called her mom, sister and a few trusted friends from Acapulco…She said that she and Casper decided to get married in Mexico. Her mom…thought they had eloped, but Jen just laughed and said it was only a matter of time.”
What? That makes no sense. “Decided” to marry in Mexico, with nebulous wording like she already eloped. Ugh. Well, she didn’t marry yet.
Sources add that friends suspect he’s a gold-digger but: “Jennifer’s gut is telling her that Casper is marriage material and there’s no talking her out of something once she sets her mind on it.”
