Jenny From The Block Consumed With Desperation To Find Love

Oh, Jennifer Lopez! After dating Casper Smart for over a year, she’s allegedly starting to feel insecure about the status of her romantic life and career.

Today’s reports are in response to Smart’s absence at the Parker movie premieres and Lopez’s recent subdued looks in contrast to her over-the-top Golden Globe dress. Her barely-there lace dress was definitely worn to get her ex-lover Ben Affleck’s attention. Affleck was the big winner of the night at the Globes and he kept both eyes on his wife, Jennifer Garner. There is absolutely no comparison between mature Garner and lost in love Lopez.

According to Star magazine: “Ben’s wife is very successful and respected in the industry and J.Lo can tell that she and Ben are very happily married,” a source explains. “Then she looked at her own relationships: she’s dating a backup dancer who’s nearly half her age and riding her coattails.”

Casper may be youthful, but seeing her ex-fiance so fulfilled was a wake-up call for Jenny from the block.

“Jennifer acted happy for Ben that night. But the truth is, she became very embarrassed about her own life. Her loved ones are worried, and constantly tell her she should give herself more credit, but Jennifer is really in the dumps,” the Star source continues.

Lopez should be embarrassed because first and foremost she should be a mother to her twins. She should be able to have it all (a career, man, and family), but floundering with a 25-year-old man isn’t the way to success. Don’t get me wrong, I think she should be able to date whomever she wants, just don’t be upset when it isn’t working out the way you want it to. Essentially, Lopez is the female George Clooney. So why is it okay that he is able to have the gold digger Stacy Keibler, but Lopez can’t have one too?

Recently, the media has turned against older “cougar” women dating younger men as shown with Adrienne Maloof and Sean Stewart or Demi Moore with whomever she’s dating at the moment.

Lopez foreshadows the inevitable break up. “I’ve always looked at relationships for the future,” she told Gayle King on Friday’s CBS This Morning. “Where is it going? Are we getting married? But now I’m like, maybe it’s OK to just be in the moment. Maybe it’s OK to enjoy this for right now. Who knows where it’s going? There’s love here. Relax.”

A month ago, my boyfriend and I were watching Behind The Music: Jenifer Lopez and realized how love influences her life more than her music or acting career. My boyfriend innocently asks: “Why is Jennifer Lopez such a powerful woman yet she’s so dependent on men to fulfill her life?” Just goes to show that no matter how much money or success you have this idea of being incomplete without a man is still at the forefront.

Marc Anthony seems like the best choice as someone who is successful and compliments her instead of using her for fame or money. I’m sure they had their issues. But really, at her age, the idea of a fairy tale love life is over. Grow up and worry about your children. Anthony just broke up with his rebound, so maybe Lopez will take a second look.
