Jennifer Lopez: Not Engaged To Casper Smart, Tweet Wasn’t Real

There are new rumours circulating today that Jennifer Lopez is engaged to Casper Smart after a tweet, purportedly from Roberto Cavalli, went viral. The tweet claimed that Lopez requested Cavalli design her a wedding dress (as though the designer would tweet about that before the singer could release a statement or secure a paid tabloid exclusive about it).
The message, supposedly dated March 11, 2012 that’s somehow only making waves today, read: “Today , Jenifer Lopez. Call me…… She ask me. To create a special dress. For her next weding.! Wich color … Do you advise me. ?”
That’s one big “sic” right there, but you get the idea. FWIW, the individual tweet is currently live and visible by scrolling down the main feed.
But it was pretty obviously faked somehow, if only because it was completely incongruous with the rest of the Twitter feed.
However some, like HollywoodLife.com (who saw fit to Photoshop Lopez’s head onto Sofia Vergara’s body for the same story), believed that Lopez was planning to marry. HollywoodLife further opined that the clumsy tweet could be real because of the “cryptic” manner in which it was written. Cryptic? Or illiterate? The website further posited that Lopez, infuriated that Cavalli “broke the news,” didn’t want the story out there and she wanted the message to be deleted.
The designer’s reps tell Celebuzz.com and People.com the Twitter account “was hacked.” Neglecting to explain why the message was still live.
So no, Lopez isn’t rushing into marriage with another backing dancer (remember Chris Judd?) after only four-months of dating. She’s still just dating Smart who appears to be producing or directing a music video in which Lopez stars, filming in Mexico right now. Moreover, Lopez’s rep denies that the singer is getting married.
People Magazine’s sources also say: “It’s completely false. They are not getting married. They are not even engaged.” The source continues: “Jennifer thinks she is very lucky to have met Casper. He is everything that Marc was not: kind, supportive, appreciative… There is a lot of love between [them]. He treats her like a queen. [And Casper] is great with Max and Emme and genuinely cares about them.”
