Jennifer Lopez Fired Manager For Calling Her Fat, Body Shaming

Some new quotes have come out from Jennifer Lopez’s December 2011 Glamour cover. These are more interesting and differentiated than her previously-released quotes. They were basically a copy pasta her Vanity Fair interview, offering glib insights on how to cope after you destroy your third marriage.

But now she’s talking about her positive body image and firing a manager for calling her fat and asking that she lose weight.

“I was just so infuriated that somebody said you couldn’t have a little extra meat on you, because I was by no means fat! That was so mean and closed-minded. I was like, ‘No, this is who I am and this is the type of woman that I grew up with and it’s beautiful. There’s no reason to be anybody but myself.’ I don’t get that now, I think people know better.”

“I mean, I’d like to think I’ll feel great about myself and age gracefully, but then I think, ‘Well, what if I do want a little bit of something?’ I’m open to being open [about plastic surgery]. I’m not going to make a judgment on it because I don’t have to yet.” – via Glamour Magazine.
