MTV Will Phase Out Snooki & The Situation From Jersey Shore

With one pregnant and one addicted cast-member threatening to tank the show, Jersey Shore producers are doing the compassionate thing and phasing them out so new drunks can sleep around and accidentally get knocked-up while on a contract.

TMZ.com reports that MTV is panicking how to save the show through season six and onward with the option to just replace The Situation for having substance issues and Snooki for falling pregnant during a New Year’s binge. The pair will be pushed to the background while their replacements will be given their predecessor’s screen-time.

This is counter to the existing cast’s assertions, during the staged season five exists of The Situation and Vinny Guadagnino, that they’d be hostile and alienate new people because they wouldn’t be “family.”
