ITW: Jersey Shore Season Six Will Be The Last For Original Cast

June 8, 2012 by Hollywoodite

According to a new report, Jersey Shore season six will be the last for this cast (with the addition of original housemate Angelina  Pivarnick who’ll return in cameo).

Prior to filming, Fox News claimed that MTV would rather cancel season six than film with Snooki pregnant and The Situation in recovery. In the days following Fox’s report, MTV rushed a sparse press release announcing the show’s return.

The reason for the confusion appears to be Snooki’s indecision about whether or not to live in the Shore House.

At the time, she lied to Us Weekly Magazine, saying: “If anything, I’ll visit the shore [but] I’m not living in that house being pregnant. I don’t want to be one of those moms who’s pregnant in a club. It’s disgusting.” But she did move into the house. She was photographed driving up, with suitcases, wearing the same outfit three days in a row filming her protracted arrival. Later the same week, for more staged scenes, she was photographed moving her suitcases next door.

And now sources tell In Touch Weekly Magazine it’s an open secret the cast will be fired at the close of the season.

For the original cast of Jersey Shore, the sixth season currently being filmed will be their last.

In Touch has learned that when the cast arrived in Seaside Heights, N.J., on May 31 to begin filming, the crew sat the group down to drop the bomb.

“An executive producer announced that this season will be the last,” an insider reveals. “She stressed to the cast that fans will remember them for this season, not the first, so they should bring their A game.”

Luckily, the stars — including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Vinny Guadagnino, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Deena Cortese — didn’t seem upset. “They decided to make the most of their final days at the Shore,” adds the insider. – via In Touch Weekly Magazine.
