Jersey Shore’s The Situation In Rehab, Rumours Of “Substance Abuse”

A rep for The Situation today confirmed that the 29-year-old has checked into rehab although there are conflicting reports about why exactly he’s in there.

The rep tells TMZ, People Magazine, and Us Weekly: “He is not in rehab for substance abuse. He has spent the last several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule.”

However, sources for TMZ claim that The Situation has a “substance abuse” problem offering no further elaboration or specifics so he could have had anything from a hard coke problem to a drinking problem or lesser.

Sources for Us Weekly deny that there’s a drug problem of any kind. RadarOnline.com sources say the same, downplaying the inpatient rehab as a glorified vacation where The Situation is catching up on his sleep: “Mike is focusing on recuperation after a very long trip through Australia and getting rested up for season six. His friends and family know where he is, he just wants to get away from the public and be on his own for a bit to relax.”
