Jessica Simpson Negotiating $500,000 Pregnancy Announcement

At this point, it’s fairly common knowledge that Jessica Simpson would appear to be pregnant.
She’s been getting bigger only in the belly area, doing the preggo waddle while supporting her back, she’s stopped her booze-hound ways and she’s reportedly been gleefully eating for two. Not drinking like a fish and being a booze-hound, Christina Aguilera’s current state if you will, would appear to be the biggest clue. Either she’s enjoying the column inches she was sorely lacking before and she’s enjoying the free publicity for her sub-Project Runway television show… or she’s knocked up. Why would you want people to think you were late in your second trimester unless you were? She’s engaged and she’s playing coy, sort of. The opposite of the Beyonce bump scandal. Although, incidentally, Simpson looks more pregnant than Beyonce does.
Well, now Page Six claims Simpson’s not playing coy, she’s shilling her baby announcement. Weeks ago, Celebuzz.com claimed People were in the lead in the negotiations.
Jessica Simpson is pregnant, but she wouldn’t confirm anything to anyone until she had a magazine deal… for a fee of up to a half-million dollars.
Sources told Page Six that Simpson, with the help of her father/manager, Joe Simpson, refused to say she is expecting until she had a deal in place.
The the singer/fashion designer and mentor on NBC’s Fashion Star had been shopping a deal to the celebrity weeklies to announce the news and sell the eventual baby photos.
We’re told the Simpsons were asking up to $500,000 to close the deal. And Jessica has been hiding an obvious bump in recent photos to keep showbiz’s worst kept secret.
Last night OK! posted the cover story, “Yes, I’m Having A Baby.” Jessica is engaged to former NFL star Eric Johnson, but the wedding date hasn’t been revealed. “We’re enjoying our commitment to each other,” Simpson said recently. “We want to take our time … We might elope if it gets to that point.”
A rep for Simpson had no comment.
This week’s OK! cover is a boilerplate work of fiction with falsified quotes since and quotes/ scenarios that never happened are their fallback when their numbers are flagging.
Simpson reportedly wants $500,000 for the announcement and her first photo. If she really is in her second trimester, the birth may only be three/ four months away. It’ll be a test of Simpson’s star power if magazines agree she’s worth that much. The Kardashians only got $300,000 for each engagement announcement. Kourtney Kardashian got a similar amount for her baby news/ photos.
Simpson isn’t even knocked-up by someone famous. And she’s a divorcee in her 30s. It’ll be interesting, since one of the Kardashian deals fell through after OK! decided the Kim Kardashian wedding cover price was inflated and they backed out leaving People as the victor (paying $1,000,000).
