OK! Magazine Uses Old Photo for Jessica Simpson’s “Amazing Weight Loss”

May 30, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Ugh. This week’s OK! Magazine tries to steal some shine from People, who landed the only postpartum exclusive with Jessica Simpson.

The People cover shows Simpson holding baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson, access to whom cost the tabloid $800,000.

However, OK! Magazine’s issue is 100% fiction. The “before” photo on the cover shows Simpson at seven-months pregnant February 25 (as in, she gained more pounds than that). The “after” photo of Simpson in the Herve Leger dress is from September 2008 when she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Inside the issue, for a story called “New Mom, New Bod,” there’s a “so preggers” “so thin” comparison. Under “so preggers,” Simpson is barely five-months pregnant, back on January 6 for the NBC Universal Winter Press Tour All-Star party 2012. Under “so thin” is a file photo of Simpson at a Macy’s event in September 2010.

This is one of the tackiest, most deceitful things OK! has done since it did the same to with Kourtney Kardashian in 2010 (about which Kardashian chided the tabloid on Twitter).

OK!’s cover says, for what it’s worth: “Jessica’s Amazing Weight Loss. She lost 20 lbs already; How she’s using baby Maxwell in her workouts; Her easy tips can work for you, too.”
