Jessica Simpson’s “Supermodel” Quotes From Early September Cover Us Weekly Magazine
October 25, 2012 by Hollywoodite
You know it’s a slow news week when Us Weekly Magazine is re-purposing quotes from the first week of September as new on its cover, not that anyone appears to have noticed.
This week’s cover says “Bullied For Her Weight. My Diet Struggle. The new mom loses 60 lbs in five months the healthy way and ignores the haters. ‘I’m not a supermodel.’”
If that last quote sounds familiar, it should. On September 5, Simpson told USA Today: “I didn’t realize [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby. I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant and I wanted to enjoy it. I wanted to be happy and eat what I wanted. I’m not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiance and herself. My weight has always been something that people like to comment on. I’ve gotten used to it. It’ll start to get boring at some point, I hope.”
The quotes appeared on People.com the same day. And today, late-to-the-party Us Weekly is just getting around to publishing the same quotes for its cover story late October.
