Jessica Simpson Has Given Birth: Baby’s Name Is Maxwell Drew Johnson

After months of people asking “Has Jessica Simpson given birth?” “When will she give birth? “Is she still pregnant, when the hell did she conceive anyway?” and the like, those with trouble counting up to nine months and change can finally rest easy because a baby erupted from Jessica Simpson’s uterus exactly on her predicted due date (website LaineyGossip.com estimated a May 1 due date).

Simpson checked into a Los Angeles area hospital about 90 minutes ago and she’s already delivered. As reported by In Touch Weekly mid-March, yes, the baby’s name is indeed Maxwell; Maxi, for short. Maxwell Drew Johnson. Maxwell is new father Eric Johnson’s middle name, while Drew is matriarch Tina Simpson’s maiden name. So, the Googling of Simpson and Johnson’s family some ITW intern did a month ago was spot on. Okay then.

People and  Us Weekly confirm the birth. And Simpson issued a statement on her website: “Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson. We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!”

The baby weighed 9 lbs. 13 oz. at 21¾ inches long. ”Mother and baby are doing just fine,” the source tells Us Weekly.

It’s not yet clear whether Simpson gave birth naturally, as in vaginally, or by Cesarean-section. ITW conjectured the latter was a last-minute decision as Simpson was “scared” to deliver because of her sister’s very difficult labour.
