Jett Travolta Foundation Gives Its Funds To Scientology?

July 12, 2011 by Hollywoodite

It is being alleged that the charitable foundation established by John Travolta upon the death of his teenage son, Jett, has been giving a portion of its funds to their familial church, Scientology.

This isn’t so shocking but it’s certainly an interesting use of funds that were probably not donated with the intent of further funding the church’s efforts. It’s long been alleged that the Church of Scientology had fronts behind which it hid in efforts to be duplicitous at best and insidious at worst; with drug counselling, programs for children, and even a diet plan fronted by Kirstie Alley – Organic Liaison – allegedly being fronts established by the church or its members to appear less omnipresent yet have the desired reach to enroll new members.

According to Showbiz411, who claim to have seen tax-filings for the non-profit, around 10% of the donations are being funneled back into their church. Filings for 2010 show a breakdown of its incomings and outgoings; there were donations totaling $27,850, around $2,500 of which went to a detox charity for the church.

Jett Travolta, 16-years-old at the time of his death, passed away in 2009 of what has been reported as a seizure; although, it was speculated at the time he may have endured multiple afflictions not recognised by the church as legitimate illnesses – for example, their practices claim to cure cancer and, according to their teachings, autism, which it was speculated in court he lived with, and mental illnesses, do not exist – and it was the lack of treatment or negligence that caused his death.
