Jill Zarin Apologizes For Telling Press Mario Singer Hit On Her
Jill Zarin spoke with In Touch Weekly earlier this month, revealing that Ramona Singer’s husband Mario once hit on her, and that it had gotten so bad that she was forced to have her own husband put a stop to it. But now, the former Real Housewives of New York star is singing a different tune, claiming that some of her comments were misconstrued.
“I feel bad about the story and I never wanted to do anything to hurt her,” Jill explains to Celebuzz. ”When I had to get [my husband] Bobby involved to get him away from me, that was unrelated. It was a totally separate situation. It had nothing to do with him [Mario] hitting on me. He did hit on me, but he didn’t do it in any salacious way.”
Although Jill claims to regret some of her comments, she’s sticking by her allegations of Mario’s wandering eye.
“I still feel bad for her [Ramona],” she says. “We all knew it. Everyone said it on and off the show. We aren’t the best of friends, but I don’t wish bad things for her. I was speaking with a friend and I was surprised it made it in the press because I’ve been off TV for so long. Who would care what I have to say, really? I just thought this is so not relevant.”
Jill may have thought her comments would be irrelevant, and they may have been at one point. However, since they were made just weeks after reports surfaced of Mario having had an affair with a younger woman, they quickly became very relevant.
“The truth is, Ramona and I both signed up for people to say things that we don’t like and that are true and not true,” Jill continues. “And she still has to live with the press saying things she doesn’t like. But I need to be more careful about what I say in the future.”
