Jill Zarin Explains Why She Turned Down An Appearance On Bethenny
Jill Zarin is refusing to make an appearance on her former co-star and ex-friend Bethenny Frankel’s talk show. Prior reports claim that producers on Bethenny had planned to get the original cast of the show back together for a reunion which would air on the show but after sending out a few low offers, two of the women have turned the opportunity down.
“I flat out said ‘no’ when they asked me to go on her show,” Jill tells Life & Style. “Does she think I’m just going to show up and she’s going to come out and do her fake show and then run away?”
One of Jill’s main issues with Bethenny’s offer was that she didn’t deliver it herself.
“She couldn’t pick up the phone and call me herself. I was shocked. She should’ve called,” Jill says. “I’m in a neutral zone with Bethenny; we’ve communicated. I was hurt that she didn’t call me because I did e-mail and congratulate her on the show, so it wasn’t like we hadn’t spoken.”
If Bethenny had called Jill, perhaps she would have given the idea a fair shot, but at this point, Jill feels as though she was a pawn, wanted for the the show not to reunite with her friend but to boost the ratings for Bethenny’s series.
“I was hoping she was looking for resolution and not to use me for ratings. I was looking for an honest and real conversation. I felt I deserved that because we were such good friends,” Jill explains, adding that ”no money was discussed, but that wouldn’t have mattered.”
Yesterday, shortly after news surfaced that Jill and Alex had turned down the offers, Alex made a YouTube video in which she called Bethenny’s offer, which was rumored to be a mere $400, “laughable.”
