HCHBB: Mama Worried Chubbs’ Father, Michael Anthony Ford, Will Exploit Their Fame

It became apparent very soon after the pilot of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo that, of the four daughters on show, only seven-year-old Honey Boo Boo was fathered by David Michael “Sugar Bear” Thompson.
National Enquirer revealed that, in addition to Sugar Bear and matriarch June “Mama” Shannon spending time in jail/ prison for a listicle of felonies, each of the other girls’ fathers was a felon too.
This includes the father of 15-year-old Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, Michael Anthony Ford According to the Enquirer, Ford is “a registered sex offender in Georgia who served more than two years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child over the Internet in 2005. He was also charged with passing bad checks and for shoplifting at a Walmart where he worked.”
Ford and Mama were never married (she’s not married to Sugar Bear either). However, Ford claimed to have paid child support, at least sporadically. However, a commenter going by the name of Amy Ford said this: “I was Michael’s first wife and he is a pathological liar. He has never paid his child support regularly and has never wanted to be a part of her life. Please don’t even give him bragging rights for Jessica because he had absolutely nothing to do with who she is.”
So, he’s not involved in Chubbs’ life nor is he consistent with payments, according to his first wife. Mama is suggesting similar, telling In Touch Weekly Magazine that the felon has been in contact since the show aired. She suspects, and she’s probably right, he’s probably only interested in the money the family is making for the show.
After Alana Thompson, aka “Honey Boo Boo,” became the breakout star of Toddlers & Tiaras, she and her wacky clan were handed their own show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
But the TLC show became such a hit that Alana’s mom, June, tells In Touch she’s worried about people coming out of the woodwork to stake a claim.
June, who reportedly had her four girls by four different fathers, recently heard from Jessica’s long-absent dad.
“He hadn’t wanted to deal with Jessica for 15 years, and all of a sudden the show comes out, and he’s father of the year,” June tells In Touch in an exclusive interview, adding that she believes he only reached out to his daughter “because she’s famous.”
While she says Jessica brushed the man off, it was still upsetting to June, who worries that others may try to use her family for money.
June says she’ll fight to make sure none of her kids are taken advantage of. – via In Touch Weekly Magazine.
