Justin Bieber Took DNA Test To Determine Paternity Of Mariah Yeater’s Baby
Justin Bieber spent 10-minutes of his life he won’t get back taking a paternity test in New Jersey on Friday. Bieber said he’d do the test upon his return to America from Europe, where he’d been on promotional duties. The test was arranged by his lawyer, and was done at a reportedly reputable facility.
“Justin took a DNA test on Friday night. The whole process lasted less than 10 minutes,” a source [says]. “It’s an extremely reputable facility, and there are surveillance cameras everywhere to ensure tests are done with integrity and can’t be compromised. Justin’s test should be processed and completed by the end of the week. It’s time for Mariah to put up or shut up, and submit the baby to a test.”
A source says that Yeater’s side is unaware of the test having been taken, which, they assert doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened but, they claim if it was then it wasn’t done in conjunction with their requests.
Mariah’s camp wanted certain controls in place for the testing. Yeater’s lawyer, Jeffrey Leving [said] last week, “A DNA test has already been agreed to and now it’s about negotiating time and place. Our team is dealing directly with him, Justin’s lawyer. The only issue is is he the father? Get the DNA test and the case is over. It’s simple.”
When asked what kind of controls he would want over the DNA test, Leving told RadarOnline.com: “Chain of custody. Watching it with my own eyes, I’d feel safe.” Leving also said he would like it videotaped from collection to transportation. – via RadarOnline.com
Mariah Yeater’s new lawyer, Jeffrey Leving, appears to be laying the ground work to cry foul if/ when the results come back negative.
He told the NY Daily News he wanted to settle in private and disliked the media knowing so much about the case (he promptly stopped Yeater from famewhoring, realising it damaged their credibility further). Leving told NYDN he wanted the test to be performed under strict conditions so lab techs could not tamper with the results.
It appears the test was not conducted with Leving’s knowledge and it was not conducted in accordance with instruction he planned to have court-ordered at the December hearing. As it stands, the test has been done and Yeater just needs to bring her son for testing. The results will be back in around two weeks.
Bieber still plans to sue Yeater, and her attorneys for being complicit in defamation and maybe extortion, when the results come back.
