This went better than expected, so withhold the preemptive secondhand embarrassment that comes with a headline about JustJen’s foray into break dancing.

Justin Theroux is also on the Wanderlust promotional trail, although his duties have thus far been lighter than girlfriend Jennifer Aniston; just the odd magazine interview and the Los Angeles premiere. But this interview on Ellen is getting some pick-up, because Theroux acknowledges and offers an anecdote about his relationship and then starts break-dancing.

Theroux says: “I have a very particular pair of shoes which I breakdance in. Actually when my girlfriend [Jennifer Aniston] I don’t know if any of you guys know her. She just recently celebrated a birthday and ever since she saw Zoolander she’s been obsessed with making me break dance. Literally obsessed with it. I break danced at a friends wedding. So she’s been saying when are you going to break dance? That’s when I sort of invented this thing. Well, I have shoes my breaking shoes and if I don’t have my breaking shoes then I don’t breakdance, sort of full stop. We got home that night . It was late and she literally came out with a pair shoes. My actual breaking shoes.”

The fabled shoes materialised behind DeGeneres’ chair and she asks Theroux to dance, to which he obliged. There’s a little apprehension watching the clip, of the 40-year-old dancing in skinny jeans. But he’s actually pretty good. Judge for yourself.
