Kail Lowry Pays $200 To Eat Her Placenta
Kail Lowry is due to give birth to her second child in early November and ahead of her big day, she’s made several big decisions. For starters, she’s decided that she will be breastfeeding her newborn — and using cloth diapers. She’s also picked out a name. Then, in a somewhat odd turn of events, the Teen Mom 2 star announced plans to eat her placenta.
“[I] just paid to have my placenta encapsulated!” Kail told fans on Thursday. “I figured it can’t hurt to try!”
While it certainly can’t hurt to try, Kail’s friends were a bit grossed out at the idea which led jokester Kail to threaten them by saying she was going to sneak it to them in a drink. ”You, Javi and Toni are all getting it. So beware,” she warned.
Another person who isn’t on board is Kail’s husband Javi Marroquin. “Javi’s iffy with it. He says he won’t try it but I think he will!” she explained to a friend.
The eating of the placenta, which is known as placentophagy, is known to help a new mother’s mental health, recovery, and well being, because of its high nutrient count.
One decision Kail hasn’t made? The choice of what to name her baby girl — if that’s what she has. Since she and Javi opted to wait to find out the sex of their baby, they are having to pick out two names, one for a boy and one for a girl, and while they settled on a name for a boy months ago, they haven’t been so lucky coming up with a name for a girl.
