Kanye West Films American Psycho Music Video With Scott Disick

Last year, there were somewhat compelling reports that writer Bret Easton Ellis would cast Scott Disick as basically himself in the lead role of Patrick Bateman in the American Psycho reboot.

It was hard to tell whether Ellis was kidding—since his aggressive ranting on Twitter leads one to infer that he’s light on humour—but he wrote over and over that Disick would be great in the role… which he obviously would be if one makes the rather bold assumption that Disick can act.

In any case, nothing has come of that yet but that’s not stopping Kanye “Yeezus” West from doing the same thing in the form of a new music video that In Touch Weekly says will feature Disick and Kim Kardashian’s friend Jonathan Cheban.

According to ITW, there are reasons aside from his shows and birthday that West is in New York City with Disick and Cheban while Kardashian is at home in Los Angeles; they’re making a video together.

With his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, about to give birth to their first child, Kanye West has just one thing on his mind — publicity for his new album.

Amidst birthday celebrations and a performance at the Governors Ball this weekend, In Touch can reveal that Kanye was hard at work shooting what he hopes will become a viral video to promote his new album, Yeezus, due out on June 18.

The theme of the video is none other than the family friendly motif of American Psycho.

“Kanye spent the weekend shooting an American Psycho-inspired video in Brooklyn with Scott Disick and Jonathan Cheban,” an insider tells In Touch. “Jonathan actually gets killed in the end.” The video, which was shot at Brooklyn Fireproof sound stages, is supposed to be released later this week in anticipation of his new album. “Kanye wants the video to go viral and drum up more publicity for his album,” the insider reveals.

Despite having a baby on the way with Kim, sources tell In Touch Kanye’s attention has been devoted to his new album. “Kanye is definitely on edge and nervous about how this album will sell,” an industry insider tells the mag. “He won’t promote it the normal way, and he wants to create buzz with all these weird, secret demonstrations.” – via In Touch Weekly.
