Kanye West Says He’s The Biggest Rock Star On The Planet, Calls Kim Kardahian “Powerful”

Kanye West has never been the modest type and in a new interview, he takes his confidence to the extreme. Not only does the baby daddy of Kim Kardashian consider himself the No. 1 rock star on the planet, he also claims to have surpassed the King of Pop.
“I’ve got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity…and I’ve been at it for 10 years,” Kanye announced during a radio interview with BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe. “I look around and I say, ‘Wait a minute. There’s no one around here in that looks like me. And if they are, they’re quiet as f–k.’ So that means, wait a second — now we’re seriously like, in a civil rights movement.”
Although Kanye considers himself to be at the top of his game, he still feels as though the world considers him “just a rap star” and doesn’t recognize his full potential. “I shouldn’t be limited to only one place of creativity,” he explained. “You guys don’t understand — I did the Air Yeezys and they eBay’d for $90,000…but I didn’t get a call from Nike the next day.”
He did, however, get a call from shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti who he eventually teamed up with to create a line of high heels which were later worn by several celebrities including Kim K.
Still, Kanye wants to do more, much like his buddy Jay-Z who has turned himself into quite the businessman since stepping onto the rap scene in 1984. Jay-Z has dabbled in just about everything from clothing design to owning a sport team to working on a record label and currently has ties to such companies as Budweiser, 2K Sports, J Hotels, and Carol’s Daughter. He’s even started his own sports agency, signing Yankee’s second baseman Robinson Cano as his first client. As of last year, Jay-Z was worth a reported $500 million, five times Kanye’s net worth.
“Jay Z is more realized than me. More of his dreams and aspirations have come true,” Kanye explained. “You don’t realize — I am so frustrated. Like, I’ve got so much I want to give…And I’ve got a million people telling me why I can’t do it.”
Despite his critics, Kanye is impressed with where rap is and happy sitting in the top spot as he attempts to pursue success in other areas. “We culture,” he said. “Rap is the new rock ‘n’ roll. We the rock stars…We the new rock stars and I’m the biggest of all of them. I’m the No. 1 rock star on the planet.”
As for his down time, Kanye choses to spend it with Kim and their new daughter, North West. “It’s like family time. That’s what Kim gave me,” Kanye stated of his famous baby mama. “She gave me everything, she gave me family, she gave me a support system. She was in a powerful enough situation where she could love me without asking me for money, which is really hard for me to find.”
