Former Stepmother Alleges that the Kardashian Sisters Missed Their Father’s Last Days

And so the saga of Kardashian family drama continues. In case you missed it, the reality TV family is making headlines again, this time for their tumultuous relationship with ex-stepmom Ellen Pearson. Last Thursday, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Robert filed suit against Pearson for possessions that legally belong to them according to the terms of their father’s will. Apparently, the items, which include the late Robert Kardashian’s diary as well as photos of his children before they were famous, are of great sentimental value.

But it seems that the heart of the matter is the claim that not only did Kardashian’s widow illegally retain property, she also used said property for exploitative purposes. Allegedly, the Kardashian clan’s former stepmother licensed parts of their father’s journal and several of his family pictures to Bauer Publishing, the owner of In Touch and Life & Style. As a result, both publications released a slew of scandalous stories, at least one of which charges that Kris Jenner was an abusive mother.

Of course, that’s not where it ends. In the days since E! TV’s first family filed suit, more family “secrets” have conveniently come to light. According to Radar Online, Pearson, who married Robert Kardashian Senior just two months before he was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in 2003, contends that the Kardashian sisters were not around to support their dad in his final days.

“I really think that it was very important for him to have his family. He was very family-oriented” Pearson apparently stated in a 2012 interview. “That was his life, with his children. So yes, I know that he was very sad about that… Robert would have been very sad had he known that his children were not there by his bedside.” The accusation is especially troubling, in part because the Kardashian patriarch is sadly not here to confirm or deny anything. It is also disheartening because the celebrity sisters have spoken very openly on their show about the difficulty of watching their father’s demise.

Undoubtedly, the entire situation is very complicated for all parties involved. However, between all of the outrageous headlines, allegations, and rumored mudslinging, it is unclear just who is at fault. Perhaps the truth won’t come out until the lawsuit is settled. In the meantime, it might be just a little bit harder to keep up with the Kardashians.
