Kardashians Sued For $5 Million For Bogus QuickTrim Claims

Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and QuickTrim are being sued in an underwhelming lawsuit that alleges deception over the glorified caffeine pills.
It was claimed weeks ago on Page Six that a law firm received one complaint and began trawling for other people dissatisfied with the product. The firm emailed QuickTrim customers in hopes of filing a class action suit. However, after several weeks, they only appear to have found four complainants, according to National Enquirer. This despite the media coverage and appeal for dissatisfied customers. Which doesn’t seem that many, in the pool of people who collectively spent $45 million since 2009.
Well, now TMZ.com and the Enquirer report that papers have been filed in New York alleging that customers were conned into buying bogus pills containing no active ingredients for weight-loss “marketed by the defendants as a clinically proven formula that will increase metabolism, curb appetite and promote weight loss. [Adverts] generally feature… photos of one or more of the Kardashian sisters in a bikini or other revealing attire.”
The plaintiffs want $5 million in damages from the family for endorsing the product’s utility and effectiveness in unsubstantiated testimonials, the company for making and marketing it, and the store(s) from which they purchased the product.
The suit alleges: “In reality, QuickTrim’s main ingredient is a large dose of caffeine, which the FDA has determined is not a safe or effective treatment for weight control.”
