Kate Gosselin Talks About Life After Reality TV
Kate Gosselin was once the mother of all reality TV. The popular TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8 showcased her life with eight children and then-husband Jon Gosselin. The show also featured the doomed marriage between the two. As the series went on, the union reached its end. Their constant bickering was a fixture on the show and Jon eventually cheated which led to a media frenzy. The two have since split up and it has been two years since the show has aired. Kate is now a single mother living a much quieter life. The once infamous reality star sat down with PEOPLE magazine to reflect on the life she once led.
“It feels like a whole other lifetime ago,” Kate said, referring to days on Jon & Kate Plus 8. These days she is living a “careful” life with her eight children- twins Mady and Cara, 12, and sextuplets Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel, Leah, and Aaden, 9. Kate is still working hard to care for her kids but she is doing so without broadcasting their lives for the world to see.
The former nurse admitted that not having “a reliable income is scary” but she is making ends meet by “piecing and patching together” an income from a variety of projects.
In her heyday, Kate was constantly criticized for her larger than life attitude. She constantly shut down and humiliated Jon on the show and rumors swirled that she was a diva. She now understands that her attitude contributed to her current unemployment. “I made so many mistakes,” she said.
The unstoppable mother isn’t letting anything stop her from getting back on her feet. “I feel like I’ve lived two lifetimes already,” Kate confessed. “I’m not the same person I was… I don’t even recognize her.”
