Kate Hudson Named Baby Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy; Spent 4.5 Hours Pushing

July 14, 2011 by Hollywoodite

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy have named their newborn son, finally, after nearly a whole week of not naming him because of reported indecision. Bellamy shared on Twitter that the 7Ib 12oz baby boy had been named Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy. It’s a relatively conservative name – not too many random letters, numbers, city names, or portmanteau names – it’s the somewhat old-timey sounding Bingham and then a familial append.

Hudson’s birth announcement came on Sunday, the same day Victoria Beckham gave birth to Harper Seven Beckham. And because the universe loves to bombard you with too much information, singer Jewel just gave birth as well.

Bellamy sounded like a happy father on Twitter, telling fans he was “So happy!” He also confirmed to his over 80,000 followers that mother and baby were healthy.

“Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!” he wrote. “For those wondering, Bingham is my mum’s maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt’s dad. Family connections all round!” – via Matthew Bellamy’s Twitter.

Heavens, four-and-a-half-hours sounds like such a long amount of time. Perhaps it’s not, since birth can effectively go on for days at worst. But that’s a long enough time to be pushing – she must have been exhausted. There’s no more information, not that it’s needed. All we need now is a baby photo of little Bing.
