March 13, 2013 by Hollywoodite

This week’s Us Weekly Magazine claims to have the exclusive on the name the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen for the baby girl whose sex Kate Middleton supposedly let slip last week.

It had already been speculated that the couple would follow royal convention and choose a mix of traditional and familial names. Including at least one reference to William’s late mother, Diana. Which, according to this story, will be their daughter’s middle name.

The cover says: “Secrets of the Royal Baby. The girl’s name they’ve already chosen; Sugary cravings, yoga workouts, Kate’s cute nickname for her bump; Harry checks up on her when William’s away.” The nickname, incidentally, is “Our Little Grape.” The actual name, Elizabeth Diana Carole.

Elizabeth Diana Carole… in honor of William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth.

The middle names will also be in tribute of their parents, William’s late mother Princess Diana, and Kate’s mom Carole. Carole is also the Latin variation of the name Charles, and Elizabeth is Kate’s mom’s middle name!

While many speculated that the couple would name their baby in honor of Princess Diana, Elizabeth resonates with the both William and Kate more, since the name also runs in Kate’s family.

Plus, Queen Elizabeth hadn’t been a huge fan of Lady Diana when she was in the royal family, and the royal couple can honor the Queen, since their baby (boy or girl) will be the next heir to the throne. – via Hollywood Life.
