Katie Holmes In Elle Magazine: “If Something’s Not Okay, Then I Make It Known”

Katie Holmes covers the new issue of Elle Magazine August 2012 who landed the coup of the year by interviewing the 33-year-old only six weeks before she filed for divorce. The magazine has released new soundbites in addition to the cover and photo released about a week ago (those were rushed before people burned out on the hype).

For some reason burying its lede under this week’s tabloid covers, Elle Magazine offers exclusive quotes portending the great escape. In short: Holmes likens inner confidence to “keeping a secret.” Moreover, if she’s not happy with something, she won’t tolerate it.

Katie Holmes admits to Elle that, as a younger woman, she struggled with her sexual confidence: “I always felt like a little girl before. I didn’t even know what sexy was.”

The secret to feeling sexy? “Anytime you feel good about yourself, you embody sexiness. It’s almost like a power or a confidence or a secret.”

Just as tantalizingly, Holmes alludes to her ability to cope and address problems, no matter how intimidating,  with adversaries.

“If something’s not okay, then I make it known,” says the star. “I will deal with things… the way my mom taught us girls how to be. She stressed listen, learn, always be strong and be true to yourself.” – via Us Weekly Magazine.
