Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise Updates: Scientology Auditing, Noisy Investigations, Fair Game

July 3, 2012 by Hollywoodite

There are some new developments in the divorce since yesterday…

Katie Holmes has fired her Scientology handlers; including her personal security, her driver, her lawyer, and her publicist. She’s hired all new people… and re-hired the management team with whom she worked for 10 years then dumped when she got married (they, apparently, happily took her back).

She’s got five or six new bodyguards who are learning her routines. The security in particular is necessary, with veiled supposed threats that Tom Cruise or the church will “kidnap,” or at least abscond with, their daughter and billet the child somewhere under Scientology guard. In the same vein, some cars have been following Holmes. One of the suspicious SUVs outside her new Chelsea apartment was checked by cops on Sunday, and two of the men inside were found to be armed. Scientology denies it’s their doing, but they would deny, deny, deny even when this SCREAMS of a “noisy investigation” where the whole point is to follow and to intimidate, ideally without breaking the law (think Robert De Niro’s character in Cape Fear). There’s also the possibility that it was the detail for a publication who put a tail on Holmes, says TMZ.com.

Regarding the prenup, the NY post claims Holmes will get $3 million for every year she stayed married (five years would be $15 million). However, TMZ claimed this morning Holmes would get nothing in the prenup, not a thing, except maybe child support.

The marital estate, without community property because there’s a prenup, is at around $275 million of which Holmes brought $25 million net worth into the marriage. Sources on her side say it’s not about the money; sources on his side leaked early conspiracy theories to TMZ, which led Harvey Levin to spew conjecture on Monday’s TMZ TV episode (corrected for TMZ Live which was filmed after the morning meeting that comprised the television show) that Holmes was “using” Suri Cruise as a “bargaining chip” and “it was all about the money.” No, and it was not.

Holmes took off her wedding ring, yesterday, and was photographed without it en route to taping her appearance on Project Runway (she was swarmed by fans/ media/ paparazzi and rubber-neckers staking out her building).

Cruise turned 50-years-old today, July 3. This afternoon, People Magazine softened a little after yesterday’s pro-Holmes cover, by reporting that Cruise left the Oblivian movie set in Iceland where he had intended to work through his birthday. He unexpectedly left the country: some speculate to plead with Holmes in NYC, and some speculate to counter the divorce strike while in Los Angeles (he ended up going back to Los Angeles).

Sources say Cruise has meager dirt to use against Holmes (but she has LOTS on him including what became a spuriously-sourced “blind item” tryst with David Beckham). She listened to her family’s advice and revealed little during auditing sessions meant to do little but excise information that could be stored and used later as blackmail (Cruise and Holmes were ALWAYS recorded on audio or video says defected #2 from the church, Marty Rathbun, who left in 2004, Cruise’s former personal auditor: “Yes, the sessions were either audiotaped or videotaped, and those remain with the Church of Scientyology [because] the church definitely would have wanted to know Katie’s every thought”).

“Katie wasn’t exactly forthcoming with information during her Scientology audit/confessions,” a source says.

“Katie’s father, Martin, advised her to be careful with what she said during these sessions so that nothing negative could get leaked to the press or be used to make her look bad.”

“Look, Katie led a very ordinary and honest life before she met Tom and tried to continue to do so during the time she was with him. Katie is level headed and extremely smart.”

“She was never completely committed to Scientology, but she participated because she truly was in love with Tom and she knew it meant a lot to him.”

“Her heart just wasn’t in it though, she was always guarded and careful during the auditing sessions with what she revealed,” says the source. – via RadarOnline.

Even so… “fair game” against Holmes may now be in play and she may be declared an SP, a “suppressive person,” a detriment to the church. Or PTS, which is a “Potential Trouble Source,” a person negatively influenced by a suppressive person. Fair game is church policy which, in short, says if there’s no real dirt on a person to make it up for the purpose of literally harassing an opponent into submission. Founder L. Ron Hubbard himself is quoted as saying: “The purpose of the suit is to harass and discourage rather than to win… [Use] black propaganda [to] destroy reputation or public belief in persons, companies or nations… If possible, of course, ruin him utterly… Always find or manufacture enough threat against them to cause them to sue for peace. Don’t ever defend. Always attack.”

Well, at least there’s no “joking” suggestion, yet, that they might use “R2-45″ as part of the fair gaming.
