National Enquirer: Katie Holmes Still “Trapped Four Months After Divorce From Tom Cruise”?
This week’s cover of the National Enquirer is backsliding into old news about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who haven’t even seen each other in the four months since Holmes absconded from Cruise and Cruise’s religion in the night without so much as a backward glance.
Holmes escaped the marriage with the help of her lawyer father and burner phones although she’s basically back to square one in her career and personal life after being cut out of Cruise’s fortune with his extensive prenup.
Holmes is working again, though. She wrote a script about a mother who escaped an abusive marriage with her child and “threw” the script on Cruise’s desk (which he proudly declared in Playboy Magazine only months before the divorce filing). And Holmes is on Broadway, to where she’s been taking their six-year-old daughter while they settle back into a routine after being displaced from their Chelsea apartment due to the power going out in the hurricane.
Speaking of which, even though there was a hurricane in New York, Cruise has not physically visited his daughter in 94 days. Seriously.
Anyway, National Enquirer is claiming that, although Holmes is working and living a relatively normal life after Cruise (taking the subway to work on Broadway and such), that she’s still indentured in her former marriage.
The cover says: “Four months after divorce from Cruise. Katie trapped. She’s still under Tom’s spell; Why she’s afraid and living in torment; Secret fears for Suri.”
