In Touch Weekly: Katie Holmes’ Weight Plummets; She’s “Skin & Bones”
July 11, 2012 by Hollywoodite
In Touch Weekly Magazine chose to ignore divorce incidentals and instead focus on sensationalising photos of Katie Holmes that are about a week old and everyone commented on her weight in them already.
The cover says: “Skin and Bones. Katie’s Weight Plummets. After taking on Tom, Katie feels bullied, stressed and stalked by Scientologists. The truth behind her shrinking frame.” ITW has no real insight into what Holmes is thinking. Nor her weight, which has not, incidentally, changed that much in the past few months. It’s just a really unflattering outfit.
But the tabloid claims to know the score. In short, these are the musings of some of the people literally following Holmes around a local Whole Foods in New York City while she’s grocery shopping with her daughter. Last week, a reporter from the New York Daily News got an “exclusive” first comment post-split which was “I’m fine, thank you,” shorthand for “GO AWAY.” There’s more of the same, as paparazzi and rubberneckers follow her around.
Her cart was filled with fruits and vegetables, but as Katie Holmes shopped with her 6-year-old daughter, Suri, at a Whole Foods in NYC on July 8, the actress looked in desperate need of heartier fare.
“She’s lost a lot of weight,” says an observer, adding that fellow patrons couldn’t help but notice Katie’s rail-thin arms, prominent collarbones and gaunt, exhausted-looking face. “She obviously has been under a lot of strain.” – via In Touch Weekly.
