Life & Style: Katie Holmes’ Weight Plummets As “Tom Cruise Returns for Suri”

It would appear that, unlike PEOPLE whose editors must have pulled an all-nighter to change their scheduled mid-week cover to a non-exclusive retelling of Angelina Jolie’s mastectomy–since Jolie released her NYT op-ed at midnight on Monday which was a calculated move to screw the tabloids since that’s when their cover designs “close” for the week– Life & Style Magazine is stuck with this typical slow news day filler about Katie Holmes’ weight.
If this cover looks familiar, it’s because sister publication ITW played this card during Katie Holmes’ divorce from Tom Cruise last year. Back then, ITW claimed Holmes was “skin and bone” because of stress relating to custody drama. This week’s Life & Style cover is essentially saying the same thing, using some of the same wording.
The cover says “Skin and Bone… Katie’s weight plummets. After a year of peace, Katie’s life is thrown into turmoil as Tom returns for Suri.”
When Katie Holmes hit the Met Gala red carpet on May 6, it wasn’t her beautiful Calvin Klein gown that had people talking — it was her very skinny frame. One eyewitness even said, “There wasn’t an inch of fat on her.”
Life & Style reveals in this week’s issue, on stands now, that the actress has been stressed out preparing for ex-husband Tom Cruise’s return to NYC.
“She’s gotten so small lately,” worries an insider. “When Katie gets stressed, she tends not to eat.”
After filing for divorce from Tom last June, the former Dawson’s Creek star took her and her daughter’s lives into her own hands. They moved to the Big Apple, Suri entered a new school, and Katie’s been busy trying to advance her career.
Now Tom has plans to spend a lot of time in the Big Apple this summer, and it’s thrown Katie’s schedule off course — but she’s determined to power through.
“Her life is in a much better place than it was a year ago,” a source close to Katie, 34, tells Life & Style. “She has managed to give Suri a whole new life — and she did it all on her own.” – via Life & Style Magazine.
