Katy Perry Drops Out Of People’s Choice Awards On Twitter

Katy Perry was scheduled to appear at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday in what was excitedly being toted as her first red carpet event since her husband filed for divorce (at her behest).
This weekend, Perry wrote her first tweet since December. Probably because her parents had been exploiting her in between anti-Semitic rants, yes, really, she said: Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, ‘close sources’ or my family.”
That read like a clear precouror to this week’s awards, and probably February 12′s Grammy Awards too.
However, Perry just backed out of People’s Choice, writing on Twitter: “Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!”
