Katy Perry Reacts To Divorce Stories: “NO ONE Speaks For Me”

Katy Perry has tweeted for the first time since her estranged husband Russell Brand filed for divorce. Her last message was from December 27, but this weekend she used her account to passive-aggressively lash out at those gossiping about her failed marriage.
Specifically, Perry seems to be targeting “unnamed sources” and her own parents who’ve been talking about her, name-dropping and, frankly, exploiting the divorce for personal gain. Perry’s father is a pastor who uses the singer’s name in promotional materials for his services. Moreover, both parents have been talking about her in church, excitedly declaring that the divorce is great for their attendance numbers.
Addressing them and all the other leaks in her camp, Perry tweeted on Sunday: “I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again… Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, ‘close sources’ or my family.”
Perry will make her first red carpet appearance on Wednesday for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards. She may also perform at the Feburary 12 Grammy Awards where she is, inexplicably (numbers be damned) nominated for two awards; Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for Firework.
