Kelly Osbourne Opens Up About Drug Addiction, Admits Her Mother Once Put Her In A Padded Cell

Kelly Osbourne used to be one of Hollywood’s infamous wild childs. The daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t exactly part of the Paris Hilton/Kim Kardashian crowd, but she definitely found herself up to no good on many occasions. In the new issue of Cosmopolitan UK, Kelly is opening up about those dark times and what the future holds.
“I’ve been to rehab seven times and to two mental institutions,” Kelly reveals to the mag. “My mum even had me put in a padded cell once to scare me, but like a brat I just sat it out until she said, ‘Well, that’s not going to work.’ But what I’ve learnt is that no amount of therapy or medication is going to work unless you want it to. Until you want to be a good person, you will never be one.”
Of her drug use, Kelly claims that she was a greedy user, never wanting to share her stash. “I would never even tell anyone I had drugs because I wanted them all to myself,” she admits. “I was quite selfish. What changed for me was looking around and seeing that nobody liked me or wanted to work with me.”
Thankfully, Kelly was able to beat the disease and get sober. Ever since, she has been thriving both personally and professionally. In addition to landing a gig on Fashion Police , Kelly has appeared on several hit shows including RuPaul’s Drag Race, America’s Next Top Model, Jane By Design, and So Undercover. Then, earlier this summer, Kelly announced her engagement to Matthew Mosshart.
“I’m so lucky to have someone as special as Matthew,” Kelly gushes. “I tend not to talk about relationships, because everything else is so out there and the only thing that is mine is my fiance. The only thing I’ll say is that you will never learn what love is on any level until you let someone love you the way you deserve to be loved.”
Despite being completely in love, Kelly claims she is in no rush to walk down the aisle — or start a family. And why should she be? Kelly is only 28 and has plenty of life ahead of her.
“I want to have kids — a boy and a girl,” she muses. “I’d like to live in England when I do, as I will not have a baby call me ‘Mom.’ I will kill myself before being called that. I’m in no rush though — I’m happy watching my brother do it first.”
As Hollywoodite reported yesterday, Jack Osbourne and his wife Lisa are expecting their second child.
