Kenya Moore says Porsha Stewart is embarrassingly ignorant
Previously, on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Stewart expressed during a tour of the Savannah, GA underground railroad at the first African Baptist church that she thought it was a literal railroad with trains.
Porsha asked how the “passengers” disembarked since there clearly wasn’t room for a physical train. She was ignorant of the history, and the terms, to the horror of co-stars including Kenya Moore. Moreover, Porsha is the granddaughter of civil rights leader Hosea Williams.
“There had to be an opening for the railroad at some point cause somebody’s driving the train. It’s not electric like we have now,” Porsha said. The other women corrected her. In response to the backlash for that episode, Kenya has elaborated in S2SMagazine.
“Porsha is an embarrassment to her grandfather, his legacy, her family, and most importantly, herself. It’s easy to laugh and call her dumb, but the reality is even more painful — WE have failed her,” Kenya tells the magazine.
Kenya continued, “Our educational system has failed her, anyone who coddled her or encouraged her to focus on her makeup, weave, and shoes to find a man to take care of her rather than her education has failed her. Anyone laughing at this gross ignorance has failed her.”
She added, “I encourage all people to teach our young girls to value the things that one cannot take away from you. A woman’s value is not between her legs but between her ears.”
